​Acayo Concy

Concy is 26 years old, and the mother of 4 children, three girls and a boy. Before coming to The Ribe Project, she was forced to  take any work she could find, and struggled to earn enough money to feed her children. She was unable to pay school fees so they were unable to attend. 

Today, after completing our vocational training program, Concy is employed by The Ribe Project earning a wage that allows her to pay school fees and contribute to the household income.

Akello Eveline

Eveline is the mother of three  children. She and her family are starting over in Gulu.  Eveline has a 2 hour walk each way to reach our office but says she doesn't mind since her family now has an income they can count on. 

Eveline's dream is to start a commercial farming operation with her husband. 

​Atong Lily

At the age of 8, Lily was abducted by the LRA, where she grew up, giving birth to six children. Now, as a 30 year old single woman, she struggles to make ends meet and pay school fees. 

Lily's dream is to someday have her own restaurant. She says her specialty is pigeon peas with beef!

ACIROCOP FLORENCE

Florence has one child, three year old Abigail, whom Florence believes is destined to become a doctor because of her miracle birth. Florence would love to see The Ribe Project offer scholarships to beneficiary children to ensure that Abigail's future comes true. 

Florence would love for her family to one day own their own home. 

ANIRWOT EVELYN

The Ribe Project has been life changing for Evelyn. Before coming to us, she had taken out a high interest loan and was being threatened by men who were coming after her for repayment. She was afraid for her life and the lives of her children. Since joining us, she reports that she sleeps peacefully at night knowing her debt is paid and they are safe. 
Evelyn prioritizes paying her children's school fees because she says she does not want them to be uneducated like herself.
